Karachi:
Sahir Hasan, the son of renowned Pakistani actor Sajid Hasan, has confessed to his involvement in drug trafficking, according to police sources cited by ARY News.
Currently, Sahir Hasan is under physical remand for his alleged role in the Mustafa Amir murder case. He was arrested in a police crackdown on the drug trade following the murder in Karachi, as per ARY News.
During interrogation, Sahir admitted to being involved in the drug business and even identified several prominent figures, including businessmen and politicians, who are allegedly linked to drug trafficking.
Investigations revealed that he processed drug payments online through his father’s manager’s bank account. Sahir, who has been working as a model for five years, also confessed to being addicted to weed for 13 years.
According to the police report, Sahir disclosed that he had been selling weed for the past two years, operating the business primarily through Snapchat. He sourced narcotics from individuals named Bazil and Yahya and reportedly smuggled drugs worth millions using courier services.
He further admitted that he spent between PKR 400,000 to 500,000 weekly to acquire over a kilogram of weed twice a month. He sold one gram of weed for PKR 10,000 and used a digital scale for accurate measurements, as per ARY News.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, police claimed that another suspect, Armaghan, confessed to the murder of Mustafa Amir. According to authorities, Armaghan’s statement was recorded on video.
In his confession, Armaghan revealed that he drove Mustafa Amir from Khayaban-e-Mohafiz to Dareji, where he later set the car on fire while the victim was still alive but semi-conscious. He also admitted to assaulting Mustafa and firing three warning shots with a rifle that did not hit him.
On Monday, a judicial magistrate remanded Sahir Hasan into police custody for one day in connection with the drug case, as reported by ARY News.
