IMPHAL, March 5, 2025: Two earthquakes of magnitudes 5.7 and 4.1 struck Manipur on Wednesday, as per the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Manipur centre. The first tremor occurred around 11:06 am, followed by the second one at 12:20 pm. Both earthquakes had their epicentre in Kamjong, Manipur.
While there were no immediate reports of damage, the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) confirmed the details of the second earthquake, stating that it had a magnitude of 4.1. The earthquake occurred at 12:20:43 IST, with coordinates of 24.70°N latitude and 94.34°E longitude, and a depth of 66 km, near Bishnupur, Manipur.
