In a proud moment for the South Asian media community in Canada, Rajinder Saini, Founder and President of Parvasi Media Group, has been awarded the prestigious King Charles III Coronation Medal in recognition of his remarkable contributions to journalism and community service.

The King Charles III Coronation Medal was established to commemorate the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III. It is awarded by the Government of Canada to individuals who have made significant contributions to the nation, demonstrated exceptional public service, or performed outstanding acts of citizenship. Recipients of this distinguished honor include community leaders, volunteers, and professionals whose work has left a lasting impact on Canadian society.

The medal was presented to Mr. Saini by Maninder Sidhu, Member of Parliament for Brampton East, during a special ceremony held at his office.

Expressing his gratitude, Mr. Saini said, “Receiving this honour is a humbling moment for me. It reaffirms my belief in the power of media to drive positive change, and I dedicate this recognition to my listeners, readers, advertisers, and supporters who have stood by me throughout this journey.”

While presenting the award, MP Maninder Sidhu praised Mr. Saini’s dedication, saying, “Mr. Saini’s commitment to journalism and community service is truly admirable. A Trailblazer in Journalism and Community Service

A veteran journalist, media visionary, and community leader, Rajinder Saini’s journey is an inspiring testament to hard work and dedication. Before moving to Canada in 2000, he had an accomplished career in India, where he balanced his profession as a civil engineer with his passion for advocacy. He served as General Secretary of the Junior Engineers Association at the Punjab State Electricity Board (PSEB), becoming one of the youngest individuals to hold this esteemed position.

Upon his arrival in Canada, Mr. Saini founded Parvasi Media Group in 2002, starting with the launch of Parvasi Weekly, a newspaper that quickly became a trusted voice for the South Asian community. His wife, Meenakshi Saini, a former teacher with a master’s degree in English, played an instrumental role in laying the foundation for what would evolve into a leading ethnic media powerhouse.

In 2004, the Sainis expanded into radio broadcasting, challenging established industry figures and transforming ethnic radio with innovative programming. Mr. Saini’s steadfast commitment to ethical journalism—refusing to promote businesses that could harm his listeners—earned him widespread respect. His fearless reporting and community-focused approach made his radio show a household name among South Asian audiences.

Mr. Saini’s receipt of the King Charles III Coronation Medal highlights his enduring impact on journalism and his unwavering dedication to serving and uplifting the community.
