The United States is preparing to deport a second group of 170-180 illegal Indian immigrants who have been residing in the US for one to three years after entering the country through illegal means. This follows the deportation of 104 Indian nationals earlier this month via a US military aircraft, which landed in Amritsar. The deportations are occurring while Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Washington for talks with President Donald Trump.
The first deportation batch included 30 individuals from Punjab, 33 each from Haryana and Gujarat, three each from Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, and two from Chandigarh. Following verification and background checks, the deportees are expected to be allowed to return home, with police focusing on identifying any individuals with a criminal record.
