Expressing his fears about peace talks at the Munich Security Conference, Zelensky said that President Trump should know our side before meeting Putin. Zelensky has previously said that he would only sign a peace deal with Putin if he agrees to a joint peace plan with Trump.
The Ukrainian President also expressed his pain over Ukraine’s NATO membership. He said that the US and the Biden administration have never seen Ukraine as a NATO member. The new US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth also made his statement about Zelensky’s statement. He said that Ukraine’s NATO membership is not realistic. We cannot support it. He said that Ukraine should now give up the dream of regaining its pre-2014 borders. This statement by the Trump administration is a big blow to Ukraine.
Earlier, Donald Trump had made a statement regarding the Ukraine war that he had spoken to Russian President Putin on the phone to end the Ukraine war. Trump and Putin are expected to meet soon. After the Ukraine scare, Trump has also made it clear that representatives of Ukraine will also be included in any peace agreement on the Ukraine issue. While talking to the media during the press conference with PM Modi, Trump had said that we are trying to end this war quickly. Efforts are being made for a peace agreement, Ukraine will also be included in it.
