USA: Floods cause devastation in Kentucky-Georgia, 9 people dead, water everywhere (video)

A terrible storm hit Kentucky, USA, killing eight people. Roads are not visible here, there is water everywhere. Meanwhile, according to a CNN report, one person has died in Georgia. Rescue teams are engaged in search and rescue operations. More than 1000 people have been rescued in the last 24 hours. This storm is considered one of the most severe weather events in a decade.

Roads and houses have been flooded in Tennessee, Kentucky and Virginia. According to officials, the water level in Kentucky reached a historic peak due to the intensification of the storm on Saturday. So far, thousands of people have been rescued from the water, in which a total of 9 deaths have been confirmed.

“We need Kentuckyers to be vigilant,” CNN said in a post shared on Twitter. With more than 300 roads closed, leaders say the chaos in the state is extremely dangerous. From landslides to blizzards in the West, the situation is dangerous. People have been advised to take precautions before going out anywhere.

The death toll may rise.

The governor of Kentucky said that a child was among the eight people who died. He said, we believe that this number is going to rise. He urged Kentuckians to stay off the roads because many deaths are the result of road accidents. A state of emergency has been declared in Kentucky ahead of the storm on Friday. Federal relief funds are being made available for the affected areas. It was being said that the storm will subside by Monday, but the danger still remains. Parts of the Great Lakes may be covered with ice. Five million people in the US are being affected by this storm.
