What Trump Said About Elon Musk in Their First Interview

Former U.S. President Donald Trump and billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk sat down for their first joint interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity. During the discussion, the two expressed mutual admiration and covered various topics, including Musk’s role as an advisor to Trump and the White House’s perspective on his influence.

Trump emphasized that Musk would not be involved in any government decisions related to his own companies. Musk echoed this sentiment, stating that his primary role would be to provide technological support to the President.

Elon Musk clarified that he had never asked Trump for any favors, assuring viewers that he would step back from any political decisions involving his businesses. His companies, particularly SpaceX, hold significant government contracts and collaborate closely with NASA.

Trump reiterated that Musk would have no influence over government projects that could create conflicts of interest with his private enterprises.

Musk addressed concerns about his role as an unelected advisor, arguing that people should be more worried about the vast number of unelected federal employees in the civilian workforce. “If the bureaucracy is fighting the will of the people and preventing the President from implementing what the people want, then we live in a bureaucracy, not a democracy,” he stated.

Wearing a t-shirt labeled “Tech Support,” Musk emphasized that his main responsibility would be providing technological guidance to the President.

Trump praised Musk’s effectiveness in executing executive orders, saying, “He gets the executive order done. There used to be signed executive orders, but no work got done. He and his genius team make sure they are executed.”

Musk also discussed his initiative, the “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE), which aims to cut government waste. He suggested that with this initiative, the Trump administration could potentially reduce the federal deficit by one trillion dollars.

Trump supported this claim, stating, “I think he’s going to find a trillion dollars,” adding that most of the waste in government spending results from fraud, inefficiency, and mismanagement.

To reassure voters, Trump confirmed that Social Security would not be impacted by budget cuts. He also reiterated his position that eliminating the Department of Education would return control of schools to state governments.
