We stressed that those who are being deported should be treated humanely and their religious sensitivities should also be taken care of. As per the information, children and women were not kept in any kind of shackles in the flights that landed in Amritsar on February 15 and 16.”
Mandeep shared the incident with Dainik Bhaskar
The young man who was seen without a turban at Amritsar airport is named Mandeep Singh. He is a resident of Amritsar. Mandeep Singh went to America via the Donkey route with the money he got after retirement from the Indian Army and by selling his wife’s jewellery.
According to Mandeep, after capturing him, the American soldiers removed his turban and threw it in the dustbin. His beard and hair were also cut off.
Traveled for 30 hours without eating
Mandeep told that when he was deported along with other Indians, his hands and feet were handcuffed and shackled. He was given only apples, chips and fruity to eat. Mandeep Singh did not eat anything during the 30-hour long journey due to the fear that the American soldiers might not let him go to the bathroom or there might not even be water in the bathroom. He travelled 30 hours from America to India by drinking only water and that too very little.
