Strong tremors of earthquake were felt in Delhi-NCR. A strong tremor was felt at 5:36 am. The intensity of the earthquake was moderate, but due to the epicenter being in Delhi, people felt strong tremors in the entire NCR. Its depth was 5 kilometers below the ground. Apart from Delhi, the earth shook so much in the entire area including Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Faridabad that people woke up from sleep. People also got scared due to the loud sound.
According to the National Seismological Center, the epicenter of the earthquake was in New Delhi area. The epicenter is said to be very close to Durgabai Deshmukh College near Dhaula Kuan, which is a part of the Aravalli region. This tremor occurred just five kilometers below the surface of the earth. Due to the epicenter being in New Delhi, the intensity was very high in NCR. A loud sound was also heard due to the movement of plates under the ground. People were very scared due to the strong vibration and strange sound felt simultaneously.
