CAIRO (AP) – Sudan’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have killed hundreds of civilians, including infants, in recent attacks on villages in White Nile state, according to Sudanese officials and human rights organizations.
Sudan’s Foreign Ministry, as cited by Egypt’s state-run Qahera News TV, stated that the RSF targeted civilians in the al-Gitaina area after facing heavy losses against the Sudanese army. The ministry reported 433 fatalities, while the Preliminary Committee of Sudan Doctors’ Trade Union estimated the death toll at 300.
Emergency Lawyers, a rights group monitoring violence against civilians, reported that over 200 people, including women and children, were killed in RSF attacks over the past three days. The group highlighted incidents of executions, kidnappings, forced disappearances, and shootings of those attempting to flee, alongside widespread looting.
