India has ended its drought of ICC Champions Trophy titles. The Rohit Sharma -led Indian team on Sunday defeated New Zealand by four wickets to win the Champions Trophy 2025. India played all its matches on the Dubai ground under the hybrid model and did not suffer a single defeat. New Zealand gave a target of 252 runs in the final, which India chased in 49 overs at the loss of 6 wickets. India has avenged its defeat in the final with New Zealand. New Zealand defeated India in the final of the Champions Trophy in the year 2000. The Kiwi team also won the final of the World Test Championship in 2021.
New Zealand scored 251 runs for the loss of 7 wickets on the basis of half centuries by Daryl Mitchell and Michael Bracewell. Mitchell scored 63 runs in 101 balls while Bracewell added 53 runs in 40 balls. New Zealand won the toss and decided to bat first. New Zealand made a good start and scored 69 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in 10 overs. Spinner Varun Chakravarthy, who came to bowl in the 6th over, sent Will Young (15) to the pavilion. Meanwhile, captain Rohit handed the ball to wrist spinner Kuldeep in the 11th over, which changed the course of the match.
