Jailed Conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar’s Bold $2 Billion Investment Offer to Elon Musk

Sukesh Chandrashekhar, a jailed conman facing fraud and extortion charges, has made an eye-catching investment offer to billionaire Elon Musk. In a letter from Delhi’s Mandoli jail, Chandrashekhar proposed an immediate $1 billion investment in Musk’s social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, with a promise of an additional $1 billion next year—bringing the total offer to $2 billion.

A Proposal From Behind Bars

Chandrashekhar expressed his admiration for Musk, referring to him as “my man,” and stated that investing in X would make him a “proud Indian.” He emphasized that his offer was not an undervaluation of the platform, adding, “Hey Elon, I am ready and wanting to invest $1 billion immediately and another $1 billion next year in your company X, making a total $2 billion as investment.”

Praise for Musk and Trump

In his letter, Chandrashekhar also congratulated Musk on his leadership role in former US President Donald Trump’s newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which aims to cut government spending. He described Musk as a “bulletproof tankman” and Trump as “big brother,” further stating that becoming part of Musk’s vision would be “the craziest and greatest thing” for him.

A History of Outlandish Offers

This is not Chandrashekhar’s first high-profile investment proposal. Just weeks ago, he wrote to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, offering $2 billion to support OpenAI’s operations in India. In his letter to Altman, he questioned why only “big boys” had access to venture capital funds and urged him to simply “take my money.”

A Pattern of Unusual Correspondences

Chandrashekhar, who is in jail for a ₹200-crore extortion case, has a history of reaching out to prominent figures. He has previously written letters to Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. Last year, he even pitched a proposal to Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar, offering to acquire a majority stake in Dharma Productions.

Claims of Innocence

Despite his legal troubles, Chandrashekhar maintains that he is wrongly accused. He has claimed credit for building a “successful” online gaming platform generating nearly $3 billion annually and insists that none of the allegations against him have been proven.

While Musk has not responded to the offer, Chandrashekhar’s extravagant claims continue to make headlines.
