Pakistan : Government will spend Rs 34 crore on temples and gurudwaras

Pakistan government has prepared a master plan of Rs 1 billion to beautify the religious places of Hindus and Punjabis. Pakistan government has started a master plan for the restoration of temples and gurdwaras in the country. Under this plan, these religious places will be decorated and renovated with 1 billion Pakistani rupees. This decision was taken in the meeting of ETPB i.e. Evacuee Trust Property Board on Saturday. Hindu and Sikh representatives from all over the country attended the meeting.

Syed Ataur Rahman, who chaired the meeting, informed that under the master plan, temples and gurudwaras will be decorated and development work will be done. 1 billion Pakistani rupees will be spent on this. Under this scheme, special attention will be given to the places of worship of minority communities. Rahman said that this year ETPB had received a revenue of 1 billion rupees.

In this regard, ETPB Secretary Farid Iqbal said that changes are being made in the plan to increase the income of the department. He said that the revenue of the department can increase manifold by handing over the newly acquired land which has been in use for a long time to development works. A decision has also been taken in the meeting to appoint a project director. At the same time, the establishment of a project management unit for operational works in the Kartarpur corridor was discussed.

Let us tell you that attacks on minorities have increased in Pakistan in recent times. After the partition in 1947, the non-Muslim population in Pakistan was 14.2 percent. Which has now decreased to 3.53 percent.
