New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in Delhi on Monday and also met Italian Deputy Foreign Minister Maria Tripodi and discussed the strategic partnership between the two countries and the ongoing efforts to further strengthen them.
In a separate post on X, the EAM also said that he met former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in Delhi on Monday.
He posted “Delighted to meet former UK Prime Minister @RishiSunak in Delhi today. Appreciate his continued support for strengthening India-UK relations,” . The Union Minister also shared some pictures of their meeting.
Apart from this, he posted another post saying “Met with Italian Deputy FM @tripodimaria in Delhi this afternoon. Had a good discussion on the India-Italy strategic partnership and the ongoing efforts to further strengthen them,” .
Diplomatic relations between India and Italy were established in 1947.
According to the India-Italy bilateral relations profile published on the website of the Indian Embassy in Rome, “Both countries enjoy strong people-to-people contacts fueled by a large Indian diaspora and a long-standing tradition of Indological Studies in Italy. In 2023, the two countries celebrated the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.”
