A man from Japan, known as Toko, gained international fame for his unusual hobby of becoming a dog, which he spent lakhs of rupees to pursue. He had an ultra-realistic dog costume custom-made for himself, and now, he is renting out the costume for others who wish to experience the same transformation.
Toko, realizing that there might be others with similar interests, launched a costume rental service on January 26th. Through a dedicated website, people can book the costume to “become a dog.” On the site, there’s even a question: “Have you ever wanted to become an animal?”
To rent the costume, people must book at least 30 days in advance. The rental fees are 49,000 yen (₹26,500) for 180 minutes and 36,000 yen (₹19,500) for 120 minutes. Surprisingly, despite launching just in January, all bookings for February were already sold out.
On Instagram, Toko shared his childhood dream of becoming an animal, saying, “When I was young, I always thought, ‘I wish there was a service where I could become an animal.’ Now I want to offer that to others. I plan to open a ‘Tokotoko Zoo’ where I will wear the dog costume and provide services that let people look like animals.”
Those eager to rent the dog costume will need to meet certain conditions. Participants must be between 4 feet 11 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall. Additionally, the zoo allows group bookings, with a maximum of three people per session.
Toko’s quirky business has turned his childhood fantasy into a service for others to enjoy, offering a unique experience for animal lovers and curious individuals alike.
