Washington, DC:
US President Donald Trump has introduced a new visa option called the “Gold Card”, which he claims is “like the Green Card, but better and more sophisticated.” This new visa, priced at $5 million, offers a pathway to US citizenship and aims to help balance the federal budget.

Speaking to a joint session of Congress, Trump emphasized that the Gold Card would attract “brilliant, hardworking, job-creating people“ who will contribute significantly to the US economy.
“While we remove criminals, killers, traffickers, and child predators, we will now bring in individuals who will create jobs and pay taxes in our country,” he stated. “They’re going to pay a lot of money, and we will use that revenue to reduce our national debt.”
The Gold Card visa will replace the EB-5 investor visa program, which has been in place for 35 years. According to Trump, the new visa will provide opportunities for high-level immigrants across various income levels, granting them permanent residency in the US.
The administration plans to launch the Gold Card program “very, very soon.”
