Trump openly rebuked him, Zelensky left in anger without eating food

US President Donald Trump on Friday lashed out at Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a meeting in the Oval Office and reprimanded Zelensky for playing with the lives of millions of people. Trump said that the Ukrainian President’s actions could ignite the Third World War. After this, Zelensky suddenly left the White House without signing the important mineral agreement with the US. Trump had demanded this agreement and said that it is a condition for future support to Ukraine.

Trump, Zelensky and the delegation were scheduled to have lunch outside the Cabinet room, but staff were later seen packing salad plates and other items there

Trump, Vice President JD Vance and Zelensky held a 45-minute conversation, with the last 10 minutes being spent in a heated debate between the three. Zelensky, while presenting his side, expressed doubts over Russia’s commitment to diplomacy and cited Moscow’s broken commitments for this. It began with Vance telling Zelensky, “Respectfully, Mr. President. I think it is outrageous for you to come to the Oval Office and try to litigate this matter in front of the American media.”
Zelensky tried to object, to which Trump said in a loud voice, “You are playing with the lives of millions of people.” Trump said, “You are inviting the Third World War and what you are doing is very insulting to the country, this is the country that has supported you very much.”

The scenes of tension and open loud conversations in the Oval Office, which is normally known for serious discussions, were surprising.

Earlier in the meeting, Trump said that the US would continue to provide military aid to Ukraine, but not much help would be provided. Trump said, “We are not thinking of sending a lot of weapons. We are waiting for the war to end so that we can do other things.” He said that Zelensky is not in a position to ask for concessions.

Pointing his finger at Zelensky, Trump said, “You are not in a good position…” He also accused Zelensky of being “disrespectful” to the US. Trump said, “It will be a very difficult job to work like this.” Vance interrupted Zelensky and said, “Just say thank you.”

Meanwhile, Trump said that he has no problem with the ongoing drama. He said, “I think it’s good for the American people to see what’s happening.” Trump said, “You don’t look grateful at all.” He said that this is going to be a great show for television.

The debate came after the Ukrainian president sought security guarantees during a meeting between Trump and Zelensky.
