Washington, DC:
US President Donald Trump delivered his first address to a joint session of Congress since beginning his second term in office. During his speech, he emphasized his administration’s efforts to end the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, which he said has caused unnecessary loss of life among both Ukrainians and Russians.

“I am working tirelessly to bring an end to the brutal conflict in Ukraine. Millions of Ukrainians and Russians have been needlessly killed or wounded in this horrific war, with no clear resolution in sight. The United States has provided hundreds of billions of dollars to support Ukraine’s defense,” Trump stated.
He also criticized America’s European allies, accusing them of spending more on purchasing Russian oil and gas than on aiding Ukraine’s defense, while the US shoulders the financial burden.
“Europe has unfortunately spent far more money buying Russian oil and gas than they have on defending Ukraine—by a significant margin! Meanwhile, Biden authorized more funding for this conflict than Europe has contributed,” he remarked.
Addressing the issue of rising inflation, Trump assured Americans that he is “fighting every day” to lower prices for consumers, despite ongoing trade tensions. He vowed to impose tariffs on foreign nations equivalent to those they place on the US, signaling a more aggressive trade policy.
